THE
CRADLE OF MANKIND
Tanzania's extraordinary
wildlife and grand landscapes have been enchanting visitors and explorers
alike. The largest country in Eastern Africa, Tanzania has managed to
remain untouched by the hordes of mass tourism. The country's friendly
citizens are eager to welcome you to their beautiful land and invite
you to discover its natural treasures. A Tanzania safari will reward
you with wildlife, scenery and culture unlike anywhere else in the world. It
is here that the remains of one of the earliest humans were discovered
which has earned Tanzania the title of 'cradle of mankind.'

The
year-round snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, which inspired the likes
of Ernest Hemingway, is a majestic sight not to be missed. Ngorongoro
Crater is another one of Tanzania's fascinating landscapes. Recorded
to be the largest in the world, it forms an area teeming with wildlife
and vegetation. Perhaps the most famous landmark of Tanzania is the
impressive Serengeti. These high plains located in the northern part
of the country, vary in elevation between 3,280 to 6,560 feet and stretch
over 5,700 square miles. They are home to some of Africa's leading
concentration of big game animals. |

TANZANIA'S WILDLIFE
Tanzania can also claim that it is
the home of the 'safari' since the word is Swahili for journey. Many
say that Africa's best game viewing safaris are in Tanzania. Endless
herds of zebras and wildebeest migrate across the plains annually. Following
close behind you'll witness a number of predators such as lions, cheetahs
and hyenas. You can overnight in a small tented camp or comfortable lodge
and experience the adventure as you retrace the steps of those early
pioneers. |
